Darryl Ware II’s family on the life he lived
SHREVEPORT, La.( KSLA) — sweet, stupendous, magnific, funny — all are words Darryl Ray Ware II’s family used to describe him
On the morning of March 1, Ware failed when he was struck by an 18- wheeler on Interstate 20 in Shreveport.
“ I ca n’t question God, you know, ‘cause He gave me those 31 times and I appreciate that, ” said Ware’s mama , Shunketal Watson. “ And he changed a lot of people’s lives and had an impact on people’s lives. ”
She said the love she's entering from the community is helping her through this time of loss and grief.
“ They’re helping me to come stronger and get stronger and stronger hail all of the positive impacts he'd on everyone, ” Watson said.
“ And I know my baby was special to me and everybody differently and smart, intelligent and he always wanted to help everybody. ”
Ware was the first African- American at Cornell to graduate from his program, the youthful seeker to run for Shreveport mayor and the first in his family to attend an Ivy League academy.
Ware’s mama said she'll continue the heritage of suppose Chief, a company Ware innovated to help his community. “ I’m going to do a$ 500 education for each academy because I’m going to try to keep pushing to keep his heritage going. ”
As a loved and well- known community member, numerous are wondering what happed.
“ He was fine, you know. He was fine, just, you know, he was fine with everything, ” his mama said.
